the rain

A friend of mine was freaking out a little this morning because she had gotten a little too excited while messaging a boy. She had sent a few more messages than he had time to respond to, she said. In my experience, whether it’s a boy or a friend, this is just something that happens. We sometimes release a little too much emotion out and it’s normal to feel a little vulnerable waiting for a response.

I know I always feel bad when I do this but it’s come to my surprise that sometimes these very moments of genuine emotion are when we captivate people the most. I believe that it’s the few instances that we allow people in, that intrigue them to stick around for more of you. Yes, we should take care of ourselves and yes, it’s usually best to pull back a little when this happens to create a balance but when the natural emotion comes out, let it. It’s you. It’s just you and there’s no sense in fighting the rain.

Let the heart feel what it needs to feel and if you trust yourself, the mind will know what to do with it to balance it out.

love, bleu
