Some days are for working, others are for dreaming. It’s important to be ridiculous while we’re dreaming, so that it may seep into our work. We tend to focus on the obstacles instead of the actual goals. We tend to not pursue dreams because we decide that they are not feasible. We focus on the scary questions we want to avoid instead of the insightful answers that we want to find. But there is something to remember… Someone, somewhere has dreamt of the things I’ve included below. Someone dreamt of Paris and made it there; someone dreamt of Positano and moved there, but first, there was permission to have an idea. I’m not saying that we should quit our jobs and plan out an absurd adventure. I’m just suggesting that we open ourselves up to wild ideas. I would simply like to encourage dreaming. Until recently, I know I had forgotten what that word meant. To me, dreaming was the equivalent of heartbreak. It was a list of things I could not afford to think about, but, my dear little mangoes, I was wrong.
To dream (verb) is:
To have a deep aspiration
To regard something as feasible or practical
To conceive of; imagine.
All I’m asking is that we allow big ideas to exist; that we regard them as feasible. That is all. Because I’ve discovered it’s not about the images below, it’s about the feelings that we can cheat ourselves out of. Life is not about the titles we’ll have, the places we’ll go or the toys we’ll own. It’s about the feelings: surprising ourselves, being proud of ourselves, and most importantly, destroying the the walls we build. With that said, here is some dreaming:
