If you have been feeling stuck, tomorrow you’re going to do something differently. What? I don’t know, I can’t do all the work. I just know you gotta change something up.
Something small that you think we would be a great 5 minutes. Maybe it’s something you used to do or maybe it’s something you always think would be fun to do. Whether it’s getting coffee before you get to work, listening to classical music on your way home, or doing a meditative exercise before showering or sleeping. Something. Do something differently tomorrow. Inject a positive event into your day. Eat healthy, read a chapter, whatever. Have a glass of champagne after work? Hey, I don’t know! It’s somebody’s birthday, right? You’re not trying to change the world or even your routine, all you’re doing is adding something.
This is your childhood equivalent to that unexpected weekday Blockbuster rental, ice cream trip, or sleepover.
So yea, try that out and let’s see how you feel. The point? Well, sometimes ruts last longer than they should because we forget what it feels like to feel good. We kind of just sit in it, politely. So try something new and IF it made any kind of a difference, wait 2 days & then try it again. There’s no pressure here, so don’t be a drama queen. Just try something new again. See what happens. You never know what you might let yourself feel.
